Help MBSA fight Hooligans in Miri Softball

During the 80’s, Softball was a very popular sports in Miri. Vincent and CP Yong are the active leaders. But they gave up organising softball activities because they got tired of many hooligan players creating troubles in the softball field, their lack of discipline, quarreling with umpires, foul languages etc, some of these players were suspended from playing for a year or so. Softball was inactive for many years thereafter.
We are now in the 21st century, We still face this kind of problems in almost every tournament, do you want softball to enter another dark age in Miri? If not, then join force with us, we shall fight and crush these hooligans. There are at least 1 to 2 hooligan players in every team, the hooligan virus have not spread to the younger team yet. Tell these players in your team to stop creating trouble and problem further, or we shall penalize them one by one.

Terengganu Gong Badak Stadium's Roof has collapsed

ONCE there were two football stadiums in Terengganu but now there may be none. The state football teams have just lost their home venue when the roof of the RM292 million Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Stadium in Gong Badak collapsed yesterday morning, just over a year after its completion.
The old Sultan Nasiruddin Shah Stadium is presently under renovation and unfit to host Super or Premier league matches......(Extracted from NST Online )

Congratulation to SM TEKNIK Girls !

And the Pengetua and Cikgu Muhd. Syahmi Tan for bringing home the Champion trophy from the just concluded Inter Teknik Schools Softball tournament held in Bintulu, Universiti Putra Malaysia.
We hope the tips provided by MBSA members, observing the Miri Softball Open matches and being part of Miri ladies selection help you girls in gaining more experience and knowledge in the game of softball.
Latest (9th April) : SM Teknik Miri Girls Softball Team will be representing Sarawak in the upcoming National Teknik Schools Softball Tournament, to be held in Perak on 22nd to 27th May, 2009. MBSA will continue to send our representatives on coaching and technical assistance. Good Luck !

Miri Softball Open 2009 - 5th April - Final Day

After three Sundays of exciting but friendly competitions, the last 4 matches were completed yesterday, thus concluding the tournament on a happier note, the tournament went smoothly without major disputes on umpire's decision and players discipline was maintained at a satisfactory level. With sufficient financial and human resources, MBSA would hold more such tournaments in the future.

MSSM Under 18 Interschool Softball tournament 2009

Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang will be organising the interschool tournament on 15th and 16th of April at Pusat Belia padang, we are expecting a total of about 15 boys and girls teams participating in the tournament. MBSA will assist the organiser by providing equipment and umpiring officials for the tournament, some of our committee and players are also voluteer coaches for several schools, MBSA will also be sending our selectors to select potential junior players for Miri team.

Knights from KB/Seria officially become the Champion of the league today after playing 6 matches and won all of them with a total points of 12 and conceding only 3 runs in their defense throughout their 6 matches.

There are 4 more matches to go on next sunday 5th April, to determine the 1st and 2nd runner up.
